CVE-2024-12195

Summary

CVE-2024-12195 is a SQL Injection vulnerability affecting the WP Project Manager plugin for WordPress versions up to 2.6.16. Malicious users with access to a project can inject additional SQL queries through the 'project_id' parameter in the /wp-json/pm/v2/projects/2/task-lists REST API endpoint. These queries can be used to extract sensitive information from the database, posing a significant risk to the security of the WordPress installation. The vulnerability is caused by insufficient escaping of user-supplied data and a lack of preparation of SQL queries, allowing attackers to manipulate and execute unintended database queries.
