Summary

CVE-2024-12124 is a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Role Includer plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 1.6, allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts. The vulnerability arises due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of the 'user_id' parameter. Attackers can exploit this flaw by tricking users into performing certain actions, such as clicking on malicious links, resulting in the execution of the injected scripts on the affected page.
