Summary
CVE-2024-12047 is a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the WP Compress plugin for WordPress. Versions up to and including 6.30.03 are vulnerable due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on the 'custom_server' parameter. An attacker can exploit this flaw by injecting arbitrary web scripts, which can be executed if a user is tricked into performing a specific action, such as clicking on a malicious link. Unauthenticated attackers can leverage this vulnerability to gain control over a user's browser and potentially steal sensitive information or perform unauthorized actions.
