Summary
CVE-2024-11947 is a remote code execution vulnerability affecting GFI Archiver's Core Service. The flaw, which is a deserialization issue, arises from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, allowing for untrusted data deserialization. This vulnerability can be exploited by remote attackers with authentication credentials, granting them the ability to execute arbitrary code in the context of the SYSTEM account. The Core Service, which listens on TCP port 8017 by default, is the affected component. This vulnerability, originally identified as ZDI-CAN-24029, poses a significant risk to systems running GFI Archiver.
