Summary
CVE-2024-11887 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Geo Content plugin for WordPress. This issue, which impacts versions up to and including 6.0, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject malicious scripts into the 'geotargetlygeocontent' shortcode. By exploiting insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes, attackers can execute arbitrary web scripts whenever a user visits an injected page. This vulnerability poses a significant risk, as it can lead to the theft of user data, unauthorized account access, and other malicious activities. WordPress users are advised to update the Geo Content plugin to the latest version as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
