CVE-2024-11767

Summary

CVE-2024-11767 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the NewsmanApp plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in versions 2.7.6 and below, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the 'newsman_subscribe_widget' shortcode. Consequently, authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can inject arbitrary web scripts, which will be executed whenever a user accesses an injected page. This vulnerability poses a significant security risk, as it allows attackers to manipulate content and potentially steal sensitive information from unsuspecting users.
