Summary
CVE-2024-11578 is a remotely exploitable stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability affecting Luxion KeyShot's 3DS file parsing process. The flaw arises due to insufficient validation of user-supplied data, leading to a buffer overflow. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by manipulating a malicious 3DS file or luring a target to a malicious webpage. Successful exploitation permits arbitrary code execution within the affected system. This vulnerability, identified as ZDI-CAN-23693, was reported to the Zero Day Initiative.
