Summary
CVE-2024-11545 is a remote code execution vulnerability in IrfanView that can be exploited when parsing DXF files. The issue arises from a failure to validate the existence of an object before performing operations on it, leading to a use-after-free condition. An attacker can take advantage of this vulnerability by creating a malicious DXF file that, when opened, allows the attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process. User interaction is necessary for exploitation, making it essential that users exercise caution when opening untrusted DXF files.
