CVE-2024-11536 is a remote code execution vulnerability affecting IrfanView, caused by an out-of-bounds read issue during DXF file parsing. The flaw arises from insufficient validation of user-supplied data, leading to buffer overread. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by creating a malicious DXF file or crafting a specially crafted webpage. Successful exploitation enables the attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the vulnerable application.
