Summary

CVE-2024-11439 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the ScanCircle plugin for WordPress. The issue lies in the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes in the plugin's 'scancircle' shortcode. This weakness allows authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject malicious web scripts that will be executed whenever a user accesses an injected page. Versions of the plugin up to, and including, 2.9.2 are vulnerable to this attack.
