Summary

CVE-2024-11431 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Ragic Shortcode plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 1.2, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts into the plugin's 'ragic' shortcode. The insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes enable the attacker to execute their code whenever a user accesses the injected page. This vulnerability poses a significant risk, as it can lead to data theft, unauthorized account access, and other malicious activities. Users are strongly advised to update the plugin to a secure version as soon as possible.
