Summary

CVE-2024-11411 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Spotlightr plugin for WordPress. The issue lies in the plugin's 'spotlightr-v' shortcode, where insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes allow authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This vulnerability poses a serious security risk, and all users of the Spotlightr plugin version 0.1.9 or below are urged to update to the latest version as soon as possible.
