Summary

CVE-2024-11103 is a privilege escalation vulnerability affecting the Contest Gallery plugin for WordPress. The issue, present in all versions up to 24.0.7, stems from the plugin's failure to adequately validate user identities during password updates. This weakness allows unauthenticated attackers to manipulate user passwords, enabling them to assume control of arbitrary accounts, including those with administrative privileges. By exploiting this vulnerability, attackers can ultimately gain elevated access to WordPress sites using the Contest Gallery plugin.
