Summary

CVE-2024-10979 is a vulnerability in PostgreSQL's PL/Perl feature that allows unprivileged database users to manipulate sensitive process environment variables, such as the PATH. This issue can result in arbitrary code execution, giving attackers significant privileges even without access to the database server operating system. Affected versions of PostgreSQL include those before 17.1, 16.5, 15.9, 14.14, 13.17, and 12.21.
