Summary

CVE-2024-10924 is a vulnerability affecting the Really Simple Security plugins for WordPress, including the Free, Pro, and Pro Multisite versions. This issue arises from improper error handling in the two-factor REST API actions of the 'check_login_and_get_user' function. Consequently, unauthenticated attackers can bypass authentication and log in as any existing user on the site, including administrators. This vulnerability can pose a significant risk, especially when the Two-Factor Authentication setting is enabled, though it is currently disabled by default.
