Summary

CVE-2024-10885 is a critical vulnerability affecting the SearchIQ plugin for WordPress. This issue enables authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts through the 'siq_searchbox' shortcode, due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. The vulnerability exists in all versions up to and including 4.6. Successful exploitation allows attackers to execute arbitrary web scripts whenever a user accesses an injected page.
