Summary

CVE-2024-10869 is a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the WordPress Brute Force Protection – Stop Brute Force Attacks plugin. Versions up to and including 2.2.6 are impacted by this issue. The flaw arises due to the inappropriate use of add_query_arg and remove_query_arg functions without necessary escaping, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject malicious web scripts. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires users to perform an action, such as clicking on a crafted link, thereby enabling the execution of arbitrary scripts on their pages.
