Summary
CVE-2024-10629 is a vulnerability affecting the GPX Viewer plugin for WordPress. The issue lies in the gpxv_file_upload() function, which fails to perform adequate capability checks and file type validation in all versions up to 2.2.8. As a consequence, authenticated attackers with subscriber-level access or higher can create arbitrary files on the targeted site's server. The successful exploitation of this vulnerability could potentially lead to remote code execution.
