CVE-2024-10553

Summary

CVE-2024-10553 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting versions 3.46.0.4 of h2oai/h2o-3 REST API. This issue allows unauthenticated remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through deserialization of untrusted data. The vulnerability lies in the POST /99/ImportSQLTable and POST /3/SaveToHiveTable endpoints, where user-controlled JDBC URLs are passed to DriverManager.getConnection. If a MySQL or PostgreSQL driver is accessible in the classpath, deserialization occurs, creating an exploitable condition. The affected software has been updated to version 3.47.0 to address this vulnerability.
