Summary
CVE-2024-10308 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Jeg Elementor Kit plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in versions up to 2.6.9, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts. The vulnerability stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the plugin's JKit - Countdown widget. As a result, whenever a user accesses an injected page, the malicious scripts will be executed. This poses a significant threat, as attackers can use the vulnerability to steal sensitive information or gain unauthorized access to user accounts. It is crucial for WordPress site owners using the Jeg Elementor Kit plugin to update to the latest version as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
