Summary

CVE-2024-10222 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the SVG Support plugin for WordPress. This issue, which arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping, allows authenticated attackers with Author-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts into SVG files. Consequently, any user who accesses the affected SVG file will unwittingly execute the attacker's code. By default, this vulnerability can only be exploited by administrators; however, the ability to upload SVG files can be granted to authors, expanding the potential attack surface.
