Summary
CVE-2024-10186 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Event Post plugin for WordPress. The issue lies in the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes in the plugin's events_cal shortcode. This flaw allows authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject malicious web scripts into pages. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The vulnerability affects all versions of the plugin up to, and including, 5.9.6. Users are advised to update their plugin to the latest version as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
