Summary

CVE-2024-10178 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Gutentor – Gutenberg Blocks – Page Builder plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 3.3.9, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into the plugin's Countdown widget. These scripts will execute whenever a user visits an injected page, potentially leading to unintended actions or data exposure. The root cause is insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes.
