Summary
CVE-2023-6195 is a Server Side Request Forgery vulnerability affecting multiple versions of GitLab CE and EE. Specifically, all versions of GitLab starting from 15.5 prior to 16.9.7, 16.10 prior to 16.10.5, and 16.11 prior to 16.11.2 are susceptible to this issue. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by importing a malicious GitHub repository containing a malicious URL in the markdown image value. The vulnerability allows the attacker to make unauthorized HTTP requests, potentially leading to unintended actions on the affected GitLab server. This could include gaining access to sensitive information or performing unauthorized actions on behalf of the affected user.
