Summary

CVE-2023-4458 is a newly discovered vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ksmbd module. The issue arises due to insufficient validation of user-supplied data during the parsing of extended attributes. This flaw enables an attacker to read beyond the allocated buffer, potentially disclosing sensitive information on affected systems.
