CVE-2023-42659 is a vulnerability affecting WS_FTP Server versions before 8.7.6 and 8.8.4. This issue allows authenticated Ad Hoc Transfer users to upload files beyond the intended boundaries, granting them unrestricted file upload capabilities. By crafting an API call, attackers can upload files to specified locations on the underlying operating system, potentially leading to significant security risks.
