CVSS 3.1 Score 9.8 of 10 (high)
Details
Summary
CVE-2023-41034 affects Eclipse Leshan, a device management server and client Java implementation, which is vulnerable to XML External Entity (XXE) attacks. The issue lies in the DDFFileParser and DefaultDDFFileValidator (and consequently ObjectLoader) components when processing untrusted DDF files, a format used in LWM2M. Leshan users who parse untrusted DDF files are at risk and must upgrade to versions 1.5.0 or 2.0.0-M13 for protection. If users parse only trusted DDF files and validate them with trusted xml schemas, upgrading is not mandatory. Unfortunately, there are currently no known workarounds for this vulnerability.
