Summary
CVE-2023-40439 is a privacy vulnerability affecting iOS 16.5 and iPadOS 16.5, as well as macOS Ventura 13.4 and earlier. This issue permits certain apps to access sensitive location information from log entries, which were previously not adequately redacted. Apple has rectified this concern in the latest updates for iOS 16.6 and iPadOS 16.6, as well as macOS Ventura 13.5. By improving private data redaction for log entries, Apple ensures that user location data remains protected from unauthorized access.
