Summary
CVE-2023-40236 is a vulnerability affecting Pexip Video Meeting Room (VMR) self-service portals before version 3. This issue arises due to the use of the same SSH host key across different customer installations. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by successfully authenticating to a different customer's installation using the known host key, effectively bypassing the authentication process. This could potentially lead to unauthorized access and exposure of sensitive data within the affected self-service portals. It is highly recommended that affected organizations upgrade to the latest version of Pexip VMR to mitigate this risk.
