Summary
CVE-2023-39949 is a vulnerability affecting eprosima Fast DDS, a C++ implementation of the Data Distribution Service standard. Versions prior to 2.9.1 and 2.6.5 are impacted, as they fail to properly validate sequence numbers. An attacker can exploit this flaw to trigger a remotely reachable assertion failure, resulting in any Fast-DDS process crashing. The latest versions, 2.9.1 and 2.6.5, include a patch to mitigate this issue.
