CVE-2023-38712

Summary

CVE-2023-38712 is a vulnerability affecting Libreswan versions 3.x and 4.x prior to 4.12. The issue arises when an IKEv1 ISAKMP SA Informational Exchange packet contains a Delete/Notify payload, followed by additional Notifies acting on the ISAKMP SA. If the pluto daemon encounters a duplicate Delete/Notify message, it will experience a NULL pointer dereference, resulting in a crash and subsequent restart.
