Summary
CVE-2023-38244 is a critical out-of-bounds read vulnerability affecting Adobe Acrobat Reader versions 23.003.20244 and earlier, as well as 20.005.30467 and earlier. This issue enables an attacker to read sensitive memory data, potentially bypassing mitigations such as Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR). Exploitation requires user interaction, meaning the victim must open a specially crafted malicious file in order for the vulnerability to be leveraged. This vulnerability poses a significant threat to users, especially those handling sensitive documents. Adobe strongly advises users to update their Adobe Acrobat Reader software to the latest version as soon as possible.
