Summary
CVE-2023-38236 is a newly disclosed vulnerability that impacts Adobe Acrobat Reader versions 23.003.20244 and earlier, as well as 20.005.30467 and earlier. This issue is categorized as an out-of-bounds read vulnerability, which means an attacker can read beyond the intended bounds of a memory buffer. The consequences of this flaw could result in the disclosure of sensitive memory contents. By exploiting this vulnerability, attackers may be able to bypass Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR), making it easier to execute further attacks. However, it is important to note that for an attack to succeed, a user must open a maliciously crafted file.
