CVE-2023-37912

Summary

CVE-2023-37912 is a vulnerability affecting the XWiki Rendering system in versions prior to 14.10.6 of `org.xwiki.platform:xwiki-core-rendering-macro-footnotes` and `org.xwiki.platform:xwiki-rendering-macro-footnotes`, and prior to 15.1-rc-1 of `org.xwiki.platform:xwiki-rendering-macro-footnotes`. The footnote macro, when used in conjunction with the include macro, executed its content in a potentially different context than intended. This issue allows privilege escalation from a simple user account to programming rights, resulting in remote code execution. The vulnerability impacts the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of XWiki installations. Affected users are advised to upgrade to XWiki 14.10.6 or 15.1-rc-1 to address the issue, as no workaround is available.
