Summary
CVE-2023-36671 is a vulnerability affecting the Clario VPN client for macOS through version 5.9.1.1662. This issue allows an adversary to intercept plaintext traffic intended for the VPN server, even if it is not generated by the VPN client. The VPN client insecurely configures the operating system such that all IP traffic to the VPN server's IP address bypasses the VPN tunnel. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to deanonymize the victim and gain unauthorized access to their data. The risk is not limited to Clario users, as the vulnerability type is also referred to as "ServerIP attack" on the tunnelcrack.mathyvanhoef.com website.
