Summary
CVE-2023-35057 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting GTKWave version 3.3.115. This issue involves an integer overflow in the LXT2 lxt2_rd_trace value elements allocation functionality. A specially crafted .lxt2 file can exploit this vulnerability, leading to memory corruption. The vulnerability can be triggered when a user opens a malicious file in GTKWave, posing a potential threat to system integrity. Successful exploitation may allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code or cause denial of service. Users are advised to upgrade to a patched version as soon as possible.
