Summary

CVE-2023-31239 is a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability affecting V-Server version 4.0.15.0 and V-Server Lite version 4.0.15.0 and earlier. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by creating a maliciously crafted VPR file, leading the user to open it. Once opened, the overflow occurs, allowing the attacker to execute arbitrary code. This vulnerability poses a significant risk as it can result in unauthorized access or system takeover. Users are strongly advised to update their V-Server software to the latest version as soon as possible to mitigate this threat.
