Summary

CVE-2023-31175 is a critical vulnerability affecting the Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories SEL-5037 SEL Grid Configurator. An Execution with Unnecessary Privileges issue was identified, which allows attackers to execute system commands with the highest level privilege on the system. This vulnerability can be exploited to gain unauthorized access and potentially cause significant damage. The issue was reported in the Instruction Manual Appendix A and Appendix E dated 20230615. The vulnerability affects versions of the SEL-5037 SEL Grid Configurator prior to 4.5.0.20. Organizations using this software are strongly advised to apply the latest patch to mitigate this risk.
