Summary
CVE-2023-25740 is a vulnerability affecting Firefox browsers on Windows systems. When downloading a Windows .scf script from the local filesystem, Firefox may inadvertently initiate unexpected network requests to remote paths supplied by an attacker. This issue could potentially expose NTLM credentials to the resource. It is important to note that this vulnerability only impacts Firefox browsers on Windows, and other operating systems remain unaffected. Firefox versions prior to 110 are susceptible to this issue.
