CVE-2023-20582 is a vulnerability affecting IOMMU (Input/Output Memory Management Unit) in certain systems. A privileged attacker can exploit this issue by improperly handling invalid nested page table entries, resulting in unintended PTE faults. These faults enable bypassing RMP (Root Mode Protection) checks in SEV-SNP (Secure Enclaves for Virtual Secure Mode), potentially compromising guest memory integrity.
