Summary

CVE-2023-20266 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting Cisco Emergency Responder, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unified Communications Manager Session Management Edition, and Cisco Unity Connection. The issue lies in the improper restriction of files used for upgrades. A crafted upgrade file, provided by a remote, authenticated attacker, could exploit this vulnerability and grant the attacker root privileges on the affected device. To successfully exploit this weakness, the attacker must possess valid platform administrator credentials.
