Summary

CVE-2022-49704 is a vulnerability affecting the Linux kernel. This issue was related to the 9p file system and specifically involved a refcount leak in the function v9fs_vfs_get_link. The vulnerability arose due to a protocol version check being performed after obtaining a file identifier (fid). To address this issue, the protocol version check has been moved to an earlier position in the code to prevent the refcount leak.
