Summary

CVE-2022-49643 is a newly identified vulnerability in the Linux kernel. This issue affects the ima (Integrity Measurement Architecture) subsystem, specifically the ima_appraise_measurement function. When the ima-modsig is enabled, a potential integer overflow can occur in this function due to a negative value being passed to evm_verifyxattr().
