Summary
CVE-2022-41073 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the Windows Print Spooler service. This elevation of privilege issue allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to install programs, modify data, or create new accounts on vulnerable systems. Successful exploitation occurs when the attacker sends a specially crafted print job to a remote print queue. Microsoft released a security update to address this vulnerability, which is currently being exploited in the wild. It is strongly recommended that users apply the patch as soon as possible to mitigate the risk.
