Summary
CVE-2022-38048 is a newly discovered remote code execution vulnerability affecting Microsoft Office. This issue takes advantage of a misconfigured ActiveX control in Microsoft Equation Editor, which can be exploited when processing specially crafted Office files. Successful exploitation allows an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the victim's system with the privileges of the current user. Microsoft has released a patch to address this vulnerability, and users are strongly encouraged to apply it as soon as possible to protect against potential attacks.
