Summary

CVE-2022-30140 is a remote code execution vulnerability affecting the iSCSI Discovery Service component in certain Windows versions. An attacker can exploit this flaw by sending maliciously crafted iSCSI discovery packets to a targeted system, potentially gaining full control and executing arbitrary code. Successful exploitation could result in significant data loss or theft, as well as the deployment of malware or ransomware. It is recommended that affected systems be updated with the Microsoft Security Bulletin MS15-031 revised rollup to mitigate this risk.
