Summary

CVE-2021-47035 is a vulnerability affecting the Linux kernel that has been addressed. The issue lies in the iommu/vt-d component, where Write-Only permissions on second-level paging entries have been removed. Previously, the first-level page table supported only Read-Only and Read-Write permissions, but the second level allowed Write-Only permissions. This inconsistency could lead to unintended behavior and potential issues. With the resolution, there will no longer be support for Write-Only permissions at the second level to ensure consistent behavior.
