Summary
CVE-2021-47016 is a vulnerability affecting the Linux kernel's m68k driver for the mvme147 and mvme16x devices. The issue lies in the failure to preserve timer configuration bits when clearing interrupt flags and counter overflows, leading to no timer interrupts being delivered after the first one. Consequently, initialization hangs in the calibrate_delay function due to the jiffies counter not being updated. A fix for this issue involves enabling the timer after requesting the irq, consistent with the mvme147 behavior.
