Summary

CVE-2021-3987 is an access control vulnerability affecting the janeczku/calibre-web software. In affected versions, users who do not have public shelf permissions can still create public shelves due to the `create_shelf` method in `shelf.py` failing to verify necessary permissions for creating public shelves. This oversight enables unauthorized users to perform actions they should not be able to, potentially leading to security breaches.
