Summary

CVE-2020-3359 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting Cisco IOS XE Software on Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controllers. The issue lies in the multicast DNS (mDNS) feature, which fails to properly validate mDNS packets. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this flaw by sending crafted mDNS packets to an affected device, leading to a reload of the device and resulting in a DoS condition. This vulnerability poses a significant risk to network availability and should be addressed promptly through software updates provided by Cisco.
